Shadowcat: 8-Ball's ex-girlfriend, Inferno, wants revenge against him. Sonima recruited Inferno, and they attacked here and took both 8-Ball and Gambit to the Sandstormers' factory.

(Kurt turn to ECKS, one eye is green and the other is yellow. When he speaks it is in Liz's voice.)
Kurt: I came back to the mansion. I tryed to kill myself. I hooked up vith Kurt here. Rogue and Gambit are ingaged. After that, Sonima came and battled me. Kurt took Gambit downstairs to keep him safe. Sonima knocked me out and I voke up in Kurt's arms and he took me down here. I think I have a concusion, but I can still communicate through Kurt.

(Seeing Nightcat talk through Kurt causes ECKS to get a little startled. His eyebrow raises and a slightly confused look comes over his face.)
ECKS: "That's uh, that's really weird. So Sonima has yet another recruit. You spent time there with her, any idea as to what she's doin' exactly?"

Kurt (Liz's voice): I only know that the new girl's name ist Inferno and that she used to be 8-ball girlfriend. Apparenty, before her powers became active, she was shot and killed by humans. She believes that Victor left her to die. She ist seeking revenge on him and vishes to kill him herself. I do not know vhy they took Gambit though. My guess ist that Sonima ist using him to get back at Rogue for something.

Shadowcat: Well whatever we do, it always seems Sonima is two steps ahead of us. Even without her telepathy, she was one of us so she knows how we think and plan. No doubt she already has about five ways to counteract anything we think of.

Shadowcat: But she could still read our minds and know what the plan is... (A lightbulb moment. Kitty starts to smile.) Unless, she can't understand what his thoughts are saying.

Shadowcat: Think about it... If any one of us tries to distract Sonima, she could read our minds and know of the plan to stop it. But if we use Lockheed to be the distraction, she won't be able to read his mind and understand what he's thinking. Besides, if she sees Lockheed, she would be expecting me. So she will focus her mind on trying to find me. While she's doing that, you guys can sneak up behind her and take her on surprise.

(Thinks this through for a minute before saying anything else.)
ECKS: "And I know just the person to make the first strike against Sonima once Lockheed has her distracted. Ana's ability to tap kinetic energy gives her a natural defense against mind readers, and if Sonima can't read her thoughts, she'll never see her comin'. That might allow me the chance to get in close enough to actually make a difference this time."
(ECKS remembers some of his own words from previous conversations, realizing that he my now be the one to take on Sonima. He starts to wonder if he'll be able to get the job done.)
ECKS: "Kitty, if we decide to do this, I'm gonna need you to stay close enough to me to phase us out of there in case somethin' goes wrong. If she gets a chance to use her powers on me... I don't even wanna think about what she's capable of."

Shadowcat: Okay, I understand. Sonima came close to killing one of us. No doubt she won't think twice about it the next chance she gets.
(Kitty looks over to Rogue. She recalled how Rogue almost died on the way back to the mansion. Kitty was so scared. The X-Men had become her family, and she didn't want to lose another.)
