(Liz smiles and takes the money.)
Liz: Danke.
(She looks down at her body and blinks her sage eyes. She knew she could get in contact with the others, but for some reason had no want to leave. She got to her feet and padded over to where Chaze was. She stood beside him and leaned against him, looking at the sun rise.)
Liz: Es ist going to be a long few days.

(Wolf smiles at Nightcat and then cracks his neck. He slips an arm around Liz's shoulder and pulls her close. But he doesn't even realize he's doing it.)
Wolf: I heard over the Weapon X frequency that Radar and a "special" squad are going to Egypt to recover some kind of item. Smith made it sound important, but I couldn't tell how important it was. Either way, when your friends get here, they should get you and I'll go after Radar. Sounds good?

(Liz rubs her furred cheek against Chaze's fur. She takes a deep breath to take in his scent and loving it. This truely was the first time another being wanted to be this close to her. At Chazes word about her going alone, she laughs.)
Liz: Here ist ze zing. Mein freunds vill not back down. Two of ze have zere own score to settle vith Smith. Ze vill vant to fight.

(Wolf snorts. He had never had contact with anyone, save his sparring partner, Creed. Now he had someone new in his life and he wasn't ready to let her go.)
Wolf: I'm sure your friends have more history than I do with Smith. That's fine, if you want him as a trophy mounted on the wall. But no one takes out Radar, unless it's me. I have a score to settle and one of my teachings require that I always get retribution. So, I am going alone. At least on this one.
(Wolf looks into her eyes to show he's serious.)

Liz: Ve can get you to vere you are headed. As soon as I am up to using mein powers, I vill contact zem. I understand about Radar. But you also have zat.
(She points to the reciever in his ear.)
Liz: You know vere zey are. Ve do not. Ve vant zis var to be over vith. Und at zis point, killing Smith looks like ze only option.

Wolf: You do realize what you're suggesting. You're asking for my cooperation with your team. Are you sure they wouldn't kill me first and then take my communicator? I don't know them, but I trust you. I'll give you the com so your people can take out Smith, but I have to get to my Egypt on my own. I hope you can understand.
(Wolf turns slightly to face Liz. He smiles at her and then goes to kiss her, but something stops him. Instead, he strokes her hair and gives her another wide smile.)

(Liz had seen Chaze's move to kiss her. She pushes herself up onto her toes, and even her tail, and she kisses him softly on the bridge of his snout.)

(Wolf smiles at her and pulls the com from his ear. He places it into her hand and smiles again.)
Wolf: It's funny. I never thought people, good people like you existed. I walked into a small Alaskan town once when I was young, and all they did was try to kill me. Almost succeeded too. But he saved me and he trained me. And he taught me that humans will always fear what they don't know. And mutants were right up there with the unexplained. I guess he was wrong to an extent. But if this ever does end, and I'm still alive.......I'd like to try to get to know you better.
(Wolf's eyes grow a little darker, but he doesn't notice.)
Wolf: Or is there another who's snagged your feelings?

Liz: I know how you feel. I have been ze target of more zan vone attack. Some of ze villagers tried to drive a stake zrough mein heart vhen I vas five. I got so scared, but I prayed to Gott zat he vould find a vay to save me. Und I teleported for ze first time. Und as for mien heart. I zought that I liked somevone but he never returned ze feelings.

(Wolf gives her a gentle look and then looks away. He's not really used to this kind of talk. It's intoxicating but at the same time, talking with her, it's soothing.)
Wolf: I'm sorry that it was like that. I wish I could say something more, but I don't really know what would be comforting.
(Wolf turns to her, and he jumps up. His claws unexpectedly come out and he looks at Liz incredulously.)
Wolf: Liz, are you ok? Because your skin--it's changing. You're taking your human form again.

(Liz looks down at her hands and winces slightly as they once again become five-digited. The fur shrinks back and she feels her tail being retracted into her spine. She falls back to the ground panting, her appearance human. She looks up at Chaze.)
Liz: Vas ist happening to me? Vhy am I changing?

Wolf snarls and looks around. He doesn't see anyone but they could be hiding. Wolf concerntrates on his sense of smell, but he doesn't smell the standard scent of a burning barrel or the sickening smell of the marine's camoflage. Wolf turns back to Liz and scoops her up in his paws. As he searches her, he finds no trace of a dart.)
Wolf:C'mon. Hang in there. You're doing just fine. I have no idea why you're changing, but you are. C'mon.
(Wolf carries her out of the cave and into the sunlight. He changes back to his human form and takes her to the small stream. He lowers her, and she scoops some water into her mouth.)

(Liz moans at the light, not used to having pupils to aborb light. She drinks the water, loving the cool feeling as it slides down her throat. She closes her eyes for a moment, savoring the feeling. When they reopen, they are back to being sage green. She smiles up at Chaze.)
Liz: Danke. I needed zat. Vhat are you looking at?

(Wolf realizes he is staring at Liz, with his dark brown eyes. When she asks him, he looks away quickly.)
Wolf: Oh, I was just thinking about something. Anyway, does this mean that you can control your change or something? I mean, that would be rather cool, but it can't feel that great. So, what's going on?
(Wolf suddenly realizes that there are fifteen dead bodies in a clearing less than a mile away. And Liz and himself aren't really that subtle. Wolf looks around to see if anyone's watching.)
Wolf: If you can, get a hold of your pals. We've gotta keep moving. Besides, I just remembered. The soldiers never relaid back to wherever they came from, so we might not be in the clear after all.

(Liz looks down at her hands and concentrates on changing them back to three fingers. It takes a few seconds, but it happens. She smiles and concentrates on changing completly. Again, it takes a some time, but it happens. Liz smile up at Chaze.)
LizL I guess I can change now.
(She took looks around to see if anyone was watching. She nods in agreement. She reaches out to ECKS and Ana, but all she gets is static. She shakes her head in disappointment.)
Liz: Too much must be happening back at ze mansion. I cannot get to zem.
