(After making sure Nightcat is safely asleep in her room, ECKS finally walks back to his own room. He quickly goes through and closes the window. Then he starts to thoroughly check his room, starting with the main room then moving to the closet. Satisfied that everything is where it should be he walks over and sits on the bed.)
ECKS: "I still get the feelin' that I know that woman from somewhere. She just seemed so familiar. But it can't be who I think it is, that just has to be my mixed up memories. Either way, whoever she works for knows where I am now and I'd be willin' to bet they'll be comin' in force to bring me in."
(Suddenly the thought comes to ECKS that if these people come for him, what would happen to the mansion. To Nightcat. Rogue. Worry strikes his face at the thought of either or both of them being harmed or even being a hostage just to get to him.)
ECKS: "I have to figure this out. I can't let anything happen to this place or to anyone in it. These people want me and they're gonna get all of me that they can handle. If they know me so well, maybe they can tell me about my past. But she didn't leave a scent, nothin' for me to follow. I guess I have to wait for the next move and just be ready if all hell breaks loose. 'Cause if they come back it will."
(Still uneasy ECKS just sits in the almost dark room alone with his thoughts. Lightning strikes can be seen in the window behind him.)
