(Liz pushes in a series of numbers into the keypad and the doors open. The lights come on to reveal a circular room with a dommed ceiling. There are very few visible panels on the wall, but the floor is covered in them.)
Liz: Zis ist ze Danger Room. Ze vierd panels on ze floor are of different obtacles to come out of und the walls can adapt at any time to any run. Ze ceiling ist ze same vay.
(She turns to Kevin. She points to control panel and speaks his thoughts.)
Liz: I know zat you vish to speak to her. Her controls are zere. Es ist our most direct contact vith her.

(Christina enters into the danger room with Varalf entering the room behind her. Christina stands against the wall in silence.)

Binary: She...you mean she (gestures at the console) is self-aware? then I will truly have a good time
(He sits cross legged on the ground within reach of the console and puts his hand on it and....melds with the computer)
Binary: hmm......it's BIG in here.........so...Mrs. Danger Room........are you here?
Computer: Yes, I am here, you have a telepathic connection with advanced electronics. Shall I construct a Danger Room Simulation?
Binary: No, that's okay.......are you self-aware?
Computer: Self-Aware....awareness of self.....yes, I am self-aware
Binary: Do you want a friend?
Computer: friend? Query: what is friend?
Binary: uhh.......friend....someone whom you trust, and share secrets with.......a person with whom a bond has been made that connects you.........I would very much wish to be your friend
Computer: Yes, I would like to be your friend
Binary: Cool....well, what kind of Danger Room simulation were you thinking of?
Computer: a simulated mission in an environment wherein telepathic connections with advanced electronics are an integral part of available abilities and are tested to establish limitations and possible areas of improvement
Binary:well then....that was a mouthfull.....I DO need to prove my place on the team.........let's get this started......I'm going to disconnect....okay? I'll talk with you later, cool?
Computer:Solution is adequate
(Binary disconnects from the computer and takes his hand off of the console. Total conversation has taken 1 minute. After he disconnects, he realizes something he neglected to do and asks his question.)
Binary: Computer; what do you wish to be called?
(The computer responds with the name given to her by the Professor)
Computer: Call me "Evelina"

(Varalf hears the Computer's reply to Kevin's question and is puzzled)
Varalf: Evelina? The computer has a name?
(Binary turns to face him)
Binary: Sure, why not? You have a name......I have a few........every Sentient creature deserves a name.
Varalf: Sentient........you mean that (he points at the console) is alive?
Binary: Yes, and SHE is NOT an IT. Anyways, care to join me on my simulation?
Varalf: well, perhaps.........(he turns to Liz and asks) Would there be a problem with me participating?
(Varalf and Binary then awaited her reply)

(Liz stares in amazement during the entire conversation. Shye then turns to the guys and gives a small shake of her head to clear it.)
Liz: Nein. I do not see vhy you shouldn't. Just be careful. Evelina here has come up vith some pretty nasty simulations before. She vill really put you through your paces.

(ECKS, who just happened to be walking down the hall after collecting a file from the main computer system, over hears the conversation in the Danger Room. He steps in just as Liz is finishing, undetected as usual.)
ECKS: "I don't mean to interrupt or anything, guys, but was he just 'talkin'' to the Danger Room Computer? Like, really talkin' to it?"
(An eyebrow raised in confusion he points to Binary.)

(Liz laughs softly as she goes to stand next to Chris.)
Liz: Zis ist Chris. He ist ze leader of our team.
(She exstends her hard to indicate Binary.)
Liz: Kevin just arrived here. He vished to speak to you, but you vere unavailable at ze time. He can communicate with computers und ze like. I thought he might as vell start vith Evelina.

Binary: It is good to meet you as well......umm.....after my sim, I really need to talk to you....it concerns part of your history......anyways, maybe I should get started, hmmm? Evelina, could you start the simulation please?
(he then waited for the Danger room to start the planned run.)

(ECKS flashes a slightly troubled look at Liz.)
ECKS: "Part of my history? I hope it's the part I can actually remember."
(He looks back to Binary as he starts his sequence.)
ECKS: "Just let him know I'll be in my office when he's done. I think I stumbled onto something that may concern us all soon but I need to do a little more research first. If it's what I think it is it can't be good."
(ECKS, file still in hand, turns and heads out the door and into the hallway headed for his private elevator.)

Liz: Vell, if Evelina already has a run for you, you may procede. Varalf. If you vish to participate in es, I have no problem. After ze run though, I must go und meet vith ECKS. He has somezing zat might interest us.

(Christina stood in silence with a look of amazement on her face when Binary was "talking" to the danger room computer. It amazed her that the computer had an actual name, like any other person. It was completely over her head to imagine the computer with human-like qualities when that same computer gave her a run for her life a few days ago.)
(Another thing startled Christina when ECKS came in. He had a file in his hand saying he may have found something that would concern them. Christina had a bad feeling about this... and with her power of premontions, normally, those bad feelings would become realities. However, she realized it wasn't her place to go be nosy, so she decided to let it go and watch Binary run his session.)
