Moment of Silence

[ECKS]

(Still silent ECKS makes his way into the infirmary and gently places Sonima on one of the empty beds. He closes his eyes and slowly takes a step back. Everyone else has also entered the infirmary now and they all stand silent. Ana walks up beside ECKS and takes him by the hand. Even she has nothing to say.)

[Shadowcat]

(Kitty lowers her head and recites a silent prayer. Even Lockheed lowers his head to pay his respects.)

[Nightcat]

(Liz turns from Falco and goes over to the bed expecting to see 8-Ball, but instead she finds Sonima. She has three stab wounds to the chest. She rounds on ECKS and starts to pound his chest.)

Liz: How could you?? Vhy?? Vas??

(She stops hitting him and collapes into a kneeling position, sobbing.)

[ECKS]

. . .

ECKS: "I didn't have a choice. I'm... sorry. I'm sorry. She's gone. She's just gone."

(ECKS even starts to shed a few tears as he chokes on his own words and realizes that this is real and there's no coming back from it.)

[Nightcrawler]

(Kurt hears Liz crying and goes over to see what he can do. He pads over to the bed and see Sonima's body there. He closes his bright yellow eyes, crosses himself and recites the Lord's prayer, fingering the rosary beads that hang at his side.)

Kurt: Unser Vater der kunst im Himmel, geheiligt dein Name sein, dein Königreich kommen, dein Wille ist erfolgt, auf Masse, wie sie im Himmel ist. Uns diesen Tag geben unser tägliches Brot. Uns unseren tresspasses verzeihen, wie wir für Geben die, die tresspass agianst wir. Und uns in temtation nicht führen, aber uns vom übel liefern. Im Namen deines Sohns bete ich. Amen.

[Nightcat]

(Liz lifts her head from her hands at the sound of the Prayer. She looks up at the others and sees 8-Ball standing with the group. She jumps up and throws her arms around him.)

Liz: How? You died in mien arms. How are you still alive?

[8-ball]

*looks at sonima*

she broght me back to life

*closes his eyes*

[Nightcat]

(Liz hugs him tighter.)

Liz: I am so sorry. I should have held onto the link harder. Vhen you started to die, I vas ejected from your mind, but I did not try to hold onto vhat vas left. I am so sorry.

(Liz lets go of Victor and turns to face Sonima. She too crosses herself. She recites Psalm 23.)

Liz: Der Herr ist mein Hirte; ich werde nicht wollen. Er lässt mich mich in grünen Weiden hinlegen: Er führt meinen neben noch Wasser. Er stellt meine Seele wiederher: Er bringt mich in den Pfaden der Rechtschaffenheit für den sake seines Namens. Ja, obwohl ich durch den vally des Schattens des Todes spazieren gehe; ich werde kein Übel fürchten: weil Sie mit mir sind. Amen

[ECKS]

(ECKS raises his head to look at Sonima again.)

ECKS: "I didn't want this. I didn't wanna do this, not to her. But I could hear her... in my head. She wanted me to save her, she wanted to die because she didn't wanna hurt anyone else. I didn't have a choice. I saw a chance to save the rest of us, to save her from herself, and I took it. I didn't even stop to think of what I was really doin', I just did it."

(He looks around the room.)

ECKS: "I'm sorry. I know she meant a lot to all of us. But this way, she can go with peace. She won't hurt anyone anymore."

[Mindcontrol]

(Mindcontrol looks at Sonima lying there on the bed)

Mindcontrol:rest in peace

(a tear runs down his face)

[Nox]

(Nox storms into the infirmary seeing Sonima's body)

Nox: This is not how it ends . . .

(He closes his eyes and begins to chant in an unknown language a dark purple aura covers Sonima's body as it rises off of the table. The wounds in her chest begin to heal and her skin regains its color.)

Nox: I love you . . .

(Sonima gasps for breath as her eyes flutter open.)

[Sonima]

(Sonima takes several deep breaths before attempting to speak)

Sonima: How . . .. where. . .. . am . . . . . I . . .. ... .

[Nightcat]

(Liz looks up at the sound of Sonima voice and her eyes widen in shock, but she knows better than to make a sound or to touch Sonima. She starts to bustle around getting Sonima connected to the monitoring equipment. When Liz is done she goes of to Sonima's head, leans over and kisses her softly on the forehead, much like a mother would.)

Liz: Es ist gute to have you back.

[Nox]

(Nox smiles and walks over to Sonima)

Nox: I have brought you back with the powers of the demon inside of me. Sinister no longer has a hold of you nor will he ever be able to control you again.

(Leans over and kisses her softly)

[Mindcontrol]

(he looks at Sonima and starts to cry tears of joy then stops and wipes them off)
