Arrival at Omega

[Nightcat]

(Liz nods her dark head, the fear receding very slightly from her eyes. She had heard the screaming of the men that had raped her as Radar had his own version of "Fun" with them, but she knew that he had done it for her and Christina. The door opens and the man named Catoire walks in. She heard what Matthews had said to her, but she still wouldn't trust him right off the bat. She follows him with her eyes as he walks over to the sink. he washes his hands and puts on sterile gloves, picking up supplies for stitches as she approached her. She shrank away from him as he sat down, but quick at lightning, she punches him in the nose, with cracks on contact. He recoils, clutching it, his eyes watering. He walk over to the door and walks out for a moment. She can hear him talking to Matthews.)

Catoire: You didn't tell me that the blue one was a fireball. What the heck happened to her to make her break my nose?

Radar: She had Brians before, bastard raped her and drugged her.

Catoire: And she thinks I'm like him. Oh man! Well, what should I do?

Radar: If I were you, I'd let her see that your life is in her hands, and you aren't there to hurt her.

Catoire: Wow, that makes me feel so much better. Why am I always stuck with people who want to kill me?

Radar: Don't know. Don't care. Just get those two patched up.

(Silence falls again and Catoire comes back in, still holding his nose. Liz smirks. He nods at her with a smirk of his own. He goes back over to the sink, takes off the old glove and washes his hands and nose. He puts on a temporary brace on it and puts on new gloves. Picking the stitching supplies again, he moves towards Liz. He holds up his arms in submission.)

Catoire: I’m not here to hurt you. You most likely heard that little conversation I just had, so please just let me do my job. I’m not going to hurt you. The only thing that I ask you to do is to revert back to your human form and let me patch you up.

(Liz nods and complies without a sound. She reverts and the only other noise that she makes is the sharp intake of breath every now and then from receiving the treatment. Soon Catoire is done.)

Catoire: There. All done.

(Liz blinks and voices her gratitude.)

Liz: Danke.

Catoire: No problem

[Radar]

(Matthews stops at Christina's "Thank-you." He turns briefly and nods at her, looking directly into her eyes. Then he turns around and leans against the wall outside, waiting for Catoire to finish. When the doctor does finish, he checks Christina's vitals and smiles weakly at her, before exiting the room and consulting with Matthews.)

Catoire: The blue woman is going to be fine. I'm going to give her a shot of adrenaline to flush the ketamine out of her system, but otherwise, she'll be okay. Save the fact that she was hurt in an inhuman way.

Radar: And Christina?

Catoire: She'll be fine too. The beginnnings of shock are visible, but otherwise, she'll be fine.

Radar: Okay. In room 247, there's another one. Be careful, he's quite dangerous and he might really kill you.

Catoire: Is that the leader?

Radar: Yeah, that's the infamous ECKS all right.

Catoire: Gee, this day just gets better and better.

Radar: Am I going to regret leaving these two in your care?

Catoire: You won't, but I might.

(Matthews laughs as the doctor leaves for ECKS's room. Matthews pokes his head in the room once more to see the two settling in. He gives them a quick smile, hopefully neither of them saw it, and then leaves.)

[Wolf]

(Chaze shook his head as he entered the infirmary wing. He looked up to see Matthews Johnson walking past. But rather than snarl and unsheath his claws like he wanted to, he gave Radar a simple nod and continued. Unfortunately, Matthews stopped.)

Radar: Is Liz really your girlfriend?

Chaze: Why?

Radar: Just answer the question, will you?

Chaze: Yeah, she is. And I love her.

Radar: Hmm...well, you should be with her. Especially now. A few of our unsavory interns had their way with her and now she's a bit messed up.

(Wolf snarled and took a step towards Matthews.)

Chaze: Did you have anything--

Radar: No, in fact, I killed them for doing it. Look, I don't care if you don't like me. I don't care if you want to kill me. I really just don't give a rat's @$$. But I won't stand by and watch innocent people messed up. Well....unless they're really annoying.

(Chaze looks at Matthews questiongly, and then turns away. He runs down the hallways to find Liz and passes a doctor poking ECKS's side. Finally he finds Liz and Christina's room and goes over to Liz's side.)

Wolf: Hey, hey. I'm so sorry I wasn't here. God, am I sorry. Liz, are you okay?

[Nightcat]

(Liz's eyes open slowly, but at the site of yet another man that close to her face, she shrinks back in fear. But in doing so, she saw more of his face and saw that it was Chaze. Suddenly she launches herself at him and wraps her arms around his neck, crying softly.)

Liz: Oh Chaze. I am so sorry. I could not stop zem. Zey drugged me und I could not fight back....I am so sorry.

[Wolf]

(Chaze returns the embrace and hugs her back as firmly and carefully as he could.)

Chaze: No, no. It's okay. They're gone now, and they won't hurt you anymore. You're going to be just fine. I promise you that.

[Nightcat]

(Liz nodded her dark head, her eyes now so pale a green, that they were almost white. When she pulls away to talk, her eyes don't seem to see anything. They are fixed on the one of the scars on Chaze's chest and her voice is dead and monotonous.)

Liz: I know. I heard vhat Radar did to zem. Und I know now zat I am safe. But zey vere just following orders. Smith told zem to do es. Zey vere being good soldiers.

[Wolf]

(Chaze strokes her head softly and kisses her cheek.)

Chaze: We'll have Smith dead before you know it. In the meantime, I'll arrange for someone to look after you. Smith's sending me after the mutant named Magneto. And I don't know when I'll be back.

[Nightcat]

(Liz blinks her eyes and nods.)

Liz: Radar has Catoire vatching us. He ist a gute doctor. But vatch out for Eric. He ist very powerful. Und he ist not afraid to hurt ozer mutants.

(She looks up and locks her dead eyes onto Chaze's.)

Liz: Bitte. Please be careful.

[Wolf]

(Chaze smiles. He knows that he's in love with a stong woman, as even in her current condition, she's giving him advice. He holds her hands and soothes her to the point of unconsciousness. As she drifts in and out of sleep, he kisses her cheeck.)

Chaze: I will come back for you. I swear that much.

[Oracle]

(Christina sits up, wraps her blanket around her, gets up, and walks towards the door. She looks back and sees Liz will be fine with Wolf there. She walks down the hallway and enters the room where ECKS is being held. She sees Catoire there making notes on a chart. He turns around to see Christina approaching.)

Catoire: You should be resting.

Christina: I think sleep will be nearly impossible for me now.

Catoire: I can give you something to help you sleep.

Christina: I've been drugged enough for one day.

Catoire: I understand.

(Christina walks over to ECKS's side and sits in the chair beside the bed. She looks at ECKS still unconscious. He had come to help her, and now he was captured like the rest of them.)

Christina: Is he alright?

Catoire: Physically, yes. If there was anything wrong with him, surely his healing capability took care of it.

(Christina continues to look at ECKS and his vitals on the monitors. One of the monitors spike as ECKS fidgets in his sleep.)

Christina: What's was that?

Catoire: That's the only thing that concerns me. It's his brain waves. They're highly active. That could be anything from a simple nightmare.... or someone's trying to take over him.

(Christina looks at Catoire and knows instantly that he knows about Apocalypse. Nur was still trying to take over him, but ECKS is trying to fight him off.)

Christina: Can he hold him off?

Catoire: I don't know. I'm not special like you and Matthews. I can't read minds or predict the future. And there's nothing I can do about it. It's all up to ECKS. But anyway, I've done all I can do. I really think you should try to get some rest.

Christina: I'll be fine... I just want to stay here for a while.

Catoire: Very well then. If you need me, you can press this intercom button and call for me.

(Catoire points to the intercom system before he walks off with ECKS's chart and out into the hallway. Christina stays seated by ECKS's side. He looked out for her. Now she could look out for him.)

[Radar]

(Matthews reaches the main cafeteria of Omega Base and sits down at a table. He draws his gun and places it in front of him. He takes out his rubix cube and starts toying around with it. Ten minutes later, Thomas Kutal sits down at the table across from him.)

Radar: What do you want Jessica?

Kutal: It's not what I want, but what we want. And we both want the mutants dead. How did the teleporter feel after I issued the order to Brians?

(Radar picked up his head and looked at Kutal. But he didn't kill the soldier like he wanted to. Instead, he simply shrugged.)

Radar: It was you who issued the order?

Kutal: Of course. Chaze and Liz are a thorn in my side, and if Smith decides to remove Nur from them then we're going to kill them as slow as we can.

(Radar smiled at his fellow soldier but what he really wanted to do was kill Smith's lapdog. Instead, he made up a lame excuse to leave. Matthews grabbed his gun and stood up. Yet as he was making his way away, Kutal called out after him.)

Kutal: By the way, Scorpio's alive and he's coming.

(Radar turned around and looked in Kutal's direction.)

Kutal: He's coming for you, Matthews. He's coming to kill you.

[Wolf]

(Chaze watched as Liz slipped into a peaceful sleep. He sighed and looked around. Christina had left and the room suddenly felt very lifeless. Chaze placed Liz's hand down beside her.)

Chaze: I'll be right back Liz. I promise.

(Chaze left the room and started walking. The monsters of Omega Base haunted him, and he vowed he would stop the madness. As he walked past several rooms, he saw Christina dozing in and out of sleep, keeping a vigil over ECKS. Outside of the room, Matthews stood watching both of them. Chaze stepped over and Matthews' attention immediately focused on him.)

Radar: What do you want barbarian?

Chaze: You like her don't you? You like Christina?

Radar: Ha, that's funny, even coming from you.

Chaze: You aren't answering the question Matthews.

(Matthews glared at him and walked away. As he did, Chaze laughed and stared after him. But before he completely disappeared, Chaze remembered the nightmarish devils in the lower bowelments of Omega. Chaze took off after Radar and jumped into the elevator the Weapon X agent entered.)

Radar: What do you want Susan?

Chaze: We need to talk. And I'm not leaving until we do.
