Assault on Omega...

[Radar]

(Wolf got to his feet and hit the release on his Baretta. As the empty clip slid out of the chamber, Chaze turned to Matthews.)

Chaze: Friend of yours?

Matthews: We have history.

(Matthews didn't say anymore, but instead walked away from the damaged hallway and towards one of the debriefing rooms. He finds Dom and another soldier, Sam Fouler repairing the room's com system. After some tinkering around and a few dozen curses being spit out, they connect the wires and the com blares to life.)

"Intruders. In the 600 corridor, 100 corridor, and 200 corridor. Stop them at all costs."

(Matthews swears under his breath and places his walkie-talkie to his mouth.)

Matthews: This is Captain Matthews Johnson. Protect the Primary Archive Floor. Do not let anyone or anything inside. Over.

(Smith's voice broke over the com, it was saturated with disdain and terror.)

Smith: Mutant contacts in the vicinity. All soldiers hold the line at corridor six hundred.

(Screams and yells of pain were heard over the com, as Deschain and his forces swept past the barricade and continued on towards the Archives. His path would take him through the majority of the base. But that wasn't what scared Matthews. He would brush past the armory and the infirmary.)

Matthews: Christina......

(Matthews turned and ran to the armory. When he got there, he saw that most of the lockers were open and stray bullets littered the floor. Matthews grabbed an M4 Rifle and jammed a magazine into its chamber. As he ran to the infirmary where ECKS, Liz, and Christina were, he heard that they were about to reach the cafeteria. That meant they were closer than he'd realized and they had less time than he thought. He raced down the halls calling their names.)

[Wolf]

(Chaze watches Matthews go and decides it's best if he finds Liz and the others. He runs down the hallways on all fours and sniffs the air trying to locate Liz. As he turns a corner he sees soldiers pouring gunfire at a far wall. He watches as a man jumps out and shoots his index and middle fingers at the soldiers. Bright white lightning shoots from the tips and slam into five soldiers sending them flying backwards. They land hard atop their fellow soldiers and that gives the intruders an opportunity to attack. Chaze recognizes the Deschain character at the front. He shrugs off a large trenchcoat to reveal an enormous black chest decorated with a large red Scorpion tattoo. He grunts in exertion and two long scaly black tails erupt from his back. Chaze notices the stinger barbs at the tip and Deschain jabs them into the fleeing soldiers with deadly poise and speed. The soldiers fall to the ground dead and Deschain looks up to see Chaze.)

Chaze: Oh sh!t.

(Deschain points towards the white wolf hugging the far wall and half of the company start chasing him. As Wolf runs down the hall howling, forty mutant soldiers chase him.)

[Oracle]

(Christina was walking down the corridor when she heard the announcements over the intercom. When she heard of intruders, her first thought was that it was the rest of the team coming to get Chris, Liz, and herself. She rounds the corner and finds herself face to face with about a handful of soldiers. They seemed different than the other soldiers at the base. What was going on? Then the soldiers mistaking her for a base soldier lifted their guns and fires at her.)

(Christina reacts quickly and hides herself around the corner as the first of the bullets strikes the wall.)

Christina: Just when I thought this hellhole couldn't get any worse...

(A soldier appeared quickly from around the corner and was about to fire. Christina was frightened and raised her hands in front of her. With a push, she used her telekinesis to throw the soldier into the wall and render him unconscious.)

Soldier: It's a mutie!

(The other soldiers who stayed back rose their guns once again and fired another round at her. Christina kept in her safe position. She began to worry about Chris and Liz back in the hospital wing, but the only way to get there that Christina knew of was through that corridor. She needed to get past these soldiers. Christina waited until she heard a break from the gunfire, and then she would lean from behind the corner and use her telekinesis against a soldier or separate him from his weapon.)

[Radar]

(Matthews heard a roar of gunfire and slowed his sprint to a jog. As he stopped and leaned against the wall, he felt a sting of regret for the past and his history with Deschain. But then his instincts caught up with him and he swallowed all of his emotions to leave just his cold battle-hardened persona behind. He peered around the edge of the wall and saw about fifteen of Deschain's boys firing at the far wall. He could tell somebody was either trapped or hurt. He sent out a small brain wave to the closest soldier. The soldier spun and without knowing what he was doing, unbuckled his grenade belt. He tossed it over to Radar who caught it and whistled.)

Matthews: HEY LADIES, HOW ABOUT A REAL FU@#$% CHALLEGE!

(The soldiers spun and fired at Radar who ducked back behind the wall. As bullets poured into the wall, he pulled the pins on every grenade and fired his gun around the corner blindly. As he used the suppressing fire, he tossed the belt down towards them and a loud explosion rocked the corridor. Matthews jumped from his position and sprayed the area with bullets, but not before he felt a stab of pain in his chest. He continued firing until he was sure everybody was dead. With a quick scan of brain waves, he confirmed it and looked down to see blood pouring from three gunshots on his right flank.)

Matthews: Oh well that just sucks.

(Radar shook his head to stop the blurriness that was taking hold of him and shouted to where the soldiers had been firing.)

Matthews: Hello, is anybody there? Do you need help? This is Captain Matthews Johnson. Is anybody alive?

[Oracle]

(Christina stood behind the corner when the explosion took place. She was thrown off her feet, but otherwise unharmed. She then hears Radar's voice. Christina picks herself up and comes from around the corner.)

Christina: Yeah, I'm alive... But are you sure you're not following me?

(Christina then notices that Matthews is bleeding.)

Christina: You're hurt... You need to get help. Come on.

(Christina gets on his left side and tries to help.)

[Radar]

Matthews: I'm fine.

(Matthews gently pushes her away and slaps his Baretta into her hand.)

Matthews: The chamber's loaded and the safety's off. Just point and aim, but whatever you see aim an inch higher to hit your target.

(Matthews grimaces and walks over to one of the dead soldiers. His eyes widen in horror at the weaponry that they were holding. Matthews curses silently under his breath as he turns to Christina and tossses her his M4.)

Matthews: Find Liz and get her to ECKS's room. There's a secret room behind the wall where's he's kept. Pull the lever underneath his bed and it should open up. Stay there until this is over, and that's an order.

(Matthews groans as he bends over and grabs the hi-tech assault rifle QBZ-95. He turns back to Christina.)

Matthews: Dammit woman, get out of here. Please.

[Oracle]

(Christina walks to Matthews and grabs him by his left arm. She helps him up and walks him down the corridor.)

Christina: You can barely hold yourself up. You need to get some help first before you go back off to war. So just swallow your pride and come on.

(Christina continues to help him down the corridor, towards the hospital wing.)

[Radar]

(Matthews groans and complies as Christina helps him. His usual darkness becomes disorienting and every step starts to hurt him. Before long, he's out of breath and relying mostly on Christina for support. But then he hears another squad on their heels and pushes Christina in front of him. As she turns to him, he points his rifle at her to scare her.)

Matthews: Go dammit. Go get Liz and make sure ECKS is okay. We can't afford to lose them.

(The sound of booted feet is now audibel to Christina and Radar shuffles over to the nearest wall. He shakes his head and wipes the sweat forming on his forehead.)

Matthews: Christina get out of here. Please.....for me.

[Oracle]

(Christina hesitates for a minute, but then decides Radar's right. Chris needs to be put somewhere safe in his current condition. She decides to follow Matthews's order... to a degree.)

Christina: Fine... But I'm coming right back. And you better be here.

(Christina then turns around and runs down the corridor to the hospital wing before Radar could retort.)

[Wolf]

(Chaze stops breathlessly at a dead end and curses. He turns back to his pursuers and they laugh as they run up behind him and raise their guns.)

Chaze: Oh come on guys. I'm just the janitor.

(The soldiers slightly lower their weapons for a bit and Wolf cocks his head to the side. Then he hears a loud snarl behind him and turns to see a company of massive Thetas behind him.)

Chaze: Oh I hate this place.

(The lead Theta leaps at Wolf and tackles him to the floor. As Chaze snarls and shoves his claws into the Theta's chest, the others attack the soldiers who open fire and cut some down. Chaze shoves the leader off of him and jumps to his feet when he sees his old Theta enemy--the one with the damaged arm, the one who threw him from the window, the one who he hated.)

Chaze: What are the odds?

(The Theta sees him and charges. Chaze jumps at it and the two slam into each other.)

[Nightcat]

(Liz had woken from her sleep when she had heard all of the blasts and bangs coming from all around. She teleports to the other side of Chris's bed as she hears running footsteps outside the door. When Christina comes bursting into the room, Liz jumps up.)

Liz: Vas ist happening out zere?!

[Oracle]

Christina: I really don't know what the hell is going on. There are some other group of soldiers attacking the ones here at the base and I don't know why. But we have to get Chris someplace safe. Come on, give me a hand.

(Christina walks to Chris's bed and looks underneath. She sees the lever and pulls it. One section of the wall opens up to reveal the secret room Matthews told her about. Christina stands and turns to Liz.)

Christina: Get Chris inside. He'll be safe there. I'm going back out. If you're up for a fight, then come on and join us.

(Christina runs back out the hospital wing and back to where she left Matthews. She looks at the gun in her hand that he had given her. She had never fired a real gun before, but it seemed today would be her first.)

[Nightcat]

(Liz nodded at her instructions. Lifting ECKS up with telekinese, she places him onto the single bed in the secret room. Closeing the door, she rushes over to a small closet that has army fatiuges in it. Grabbing a set in her size, she quickly changes. Before running out to join in the fight, she opens another small door that hide some artilery. Also in the closet are her swords. Strapping on her weapons, Liz runs out the door, a gun already locked and loaded.)

[Radar]

(Matthews snorts and rolls his eyes. He stumbles over to the middle of the room. Christina left with his Baretta and the M4. As several soldiers round the corner Matthews fires his QBZ into them and staggers forward. His swagger very much resembles a zombie as he shuffles forward firing at them. A round tears into his leg and he swears. He keeps his finger depressed on the trigger even as two more bullets slam into his shoulder and his kneecap. Matthews falls forward, still shooting. He crawls toward them firing in short bursts. Finally, he runs out of bullets and all is quiet. It's only then that he realizes that he had all ready killed them and that he's shooting at nothing. He rolls over onto his back and spits up blood. Uneasily, he sits up and pulls the clip out of the rifle. He pulls his rubix cube from his pocket.)

Matthews: Oh god, this sucks. Oh god.....dad, I'm sorry....too weak.....

(He can hear something metallic clanking behind him and he turns his head to see Deschain standing behind him with his gun raised.)

Deschain: Sic Vis Paca Para Bellum......huh Johnson.

(Matthews smiles and falls over, slipping into unconsciousness. Deschain snorts and disappears into the shadows of the oncoming night assuming Radar is dead.)

[Oracle]

(Christina rounds the corner and sees Radar lying on the ground in blood. She rushes towards him and kneels down beside him. She lays her head on his chest and hears his heartbeat. He is still alive, just hurt very badly. She looks around behind her, hoping to find someone to help her.)

Christina: Liz! You there?! I need your help!
