(While making his way down the hall to his office ECKS goes past the front door. He hears it open behind him but thinks nothing of it, no alarms, so no reason to worry. Hank McCoy, also known as Beast, comes into the door carrying two rather large cases. He notices ECKS and after closing the door calls out to him.)
Beast: "Is that really you Chris, you've grown quite a bit since leaving Xavier's Mansion. One could hardly recognize you."
(ECKS hears the familiar voice and turns to greet his old friend. The two shake hands.)
ECKS: "Hey Hank, good ta see you again. Yeah being in charge of all this, kinda wears a guy down sometimes. I kinda wish this meeting were under better circumstances."
Beast: "Agreed, but you have a problem and I think I may have the solution."
ECKS: "That's what's in the cases?"
Beast: "Yes. I've studied the information you gave me about this Inferno, and I think this should do just the thing. It's not exactly easy to test something like this, but when it comes to saving your friends, time is not something we have a great deal of."
ECKS: "No problem. I was gonna have everyone else meet us, I guess we'll set up in there. You uh, you want me to carry one o'those?"
Beast: "If you wish."
(ECKS grabs a case and the two of them start walking toward the briefing room.)
ECKS: "Once we get there I'll have Ana meet us, she'll be goin' in first with Kitty."
Beast: "Of course. I should like to meet this young woman, anyone who has the ability to 'tame' one such as yourself is worth meeting."
(ECKS gives a chuckle as the two of them continue down the hall.)
