Inside The Church

[ECKS]

(Once inside he is closely followed by Nightcat, Rogue, and 8-Ball, who all spread left and right to form a wall in front of the door. He takes the lead and starts to walk through the benches. The church is obviously in need of a make over, windows are broken, benches are rotted through and falling apart. Pretty much everything in here is in shambles, everything except for Nightcrawler's shrine, which ECKS can tell has been used recently. He can also smell him in the building but can't pinpoint where.)

ECKS: "Nightcrawler!? You here? I'm a friend of Xavier's. I have something that I really think you need to hear."

(ECKS' voice echoes through the building as he yells out. Nothing happens so he tries again.)

ECKS: "Nightcrawler!? If you're here, we really need to talk!!"

[Rogue]

(Rogue can hear the familiar *BAMF* but looks at Liz who hasn't moved.)

Rogue: Nightcrawla its me Rogue with friends. Ah know ya there ah can smell the sulfa. Ah need ta talk to ya. Please come out.

[Nightcrawler]

(A young man in his late twenties is kneeling at one on the hundreds of pews in the church. He is very thin and his pointed, indigo tail is swinging feebly behind him. He has a set of rosary beads in his hand and is fingering it gentlely as he resites the Hail Mary in German)

Kurt: Hageln Mary, der von der Anmut, der Lord voll ist, ist mit dir. Gesegnet thee unter Frauen. Gesegnet die Frucht deiner Geb5rmutter, Jesus. Heiliger Mary, Mutter des Gottes, beten für uns sinners jetzt und an der Stunde unseres Todes. Amen.

(Suddenly he hears people inside the church. He sits up straight, tenses every muscle in his body, teleports to the rafters, where he looks down on the people)

Kurt: Warum bist du hier? Ich möchte nur gegangen werden mich.

[8-ball]

(8-ball steps behind everyone)
8-ball:"this guy scares me a bit"

[Nightcat]

(Liz looks around and spots the man crouching in the rafters near them, his tail swinging for balcance.)

Liz: He says "Why are you here? I wish only to be left by myself"

[Rogue]

Rogue: Kurt, is me Rogue. Ya remember me don't ya. We came here because ah needed ta talk ta ya. Its about ya motha.

(Rogue looks up to him in the rafters)

[Nightcrawler]

(Kurt tilts his head to one side as he looks down at the four of them. He can make out the young girl and man he had encoutered at the Xaiver mansion. There are two people who he has have seen before. Suddenly he notices that the girl is a splitting image of himself, execpt for the green eyes. She takes a deep breath and sumersaults and lands in front of the Nightcat. he stares into her eyes as he addresses )

Kurt: Was did you say, Rogue? Something about my Mutter. Was do you know about the Wagners?

[Rogue]

Rogue: Ah recently started having memory flashes of ya as a baby. Ah know who ya real motha is. . . . .

(Rogue looks at Kurt waiting to see how he will respond.)

[Nightcat]

(Liz looks back into the startling yellow eyes staring at her. Her own tail snakes up and grabs onto his. He looks down and squeezes wraps his around hers. In that moment they both understand each other.)

Liz: She ist telling the truth. We know who your Geburt Mutter ist.

[Nightcrawler]

(Kurt keeps his hold of Nightcat's tail as he turns to Rogue.)

Kurt: Ok. Tell was auch immer you know.

[Rogue]

Rogue: Like ah said ah have been having there memory flashes . . . it seems we have both know ya motha for sometime now. Ya motha is Mystique. Ah absorbed her a while back and know that the professa isn't there to supress the memories ah have been having these flashes. Ah saw her give birth ta ya dn then throw ya over the waterfall. But there is more . . . .

(Rogue looks back to the other searching for the strentgh to finish what she has to say.)

Rogue: Mystique is also . . . mah motha too.

[Nightcrawler]

(Kurt's eyes widen in shock. He leaps behind Nightcat, still connected be the tails.)

Kurt: Was du sprechend sind! Wie… warum?

(His breathing evens out and realizes that he had spoken in German)

Kurt: Sorry. Was are you talking about How...Why?

[Rogue]

Rogue: Ah don't know why she did it, but Mystique is our motha. Ya are mah brotha. . . . Ah wish ah could have picked a betta choice for our momma but ah can't. Ah wish ah was lying but ah not. Mystique is the one who threw ya off the waterfall. Ah am going ta find her and find out why she abandoned us and neva said a word about it when we came face ta face.

[8-ball]

8-ball:"ECKS can i step out side i think rogue might want to talk to nightcrawler byherslef"

[ECKS]

ECKS: "Yeah, that's fine with me. I could use a smoke anyway."

(ECKS follows 8-Ball to the door.)
